David Westling is an artist, composer and writer, born in Chicago, Illinois USA. He has been an unsparing observer of the cultural scene since the early 1970s. At about this time he decided that the only way to maintain freedom of thought was to eschew postsecondary education in the formal sense of the term. Otherwise one always becomes beholden to one idol or another. His thinking takes place to the left (“left” as in “Hegelian Left”, as D. F. Strauss defined it) of both the classical liberal and the socialist liberal domains, what amounts to an “anarcho-psychological critique”, of Homo economicus, Homo Faber, “Man” as “standing reserve”, Man as a mere vessel that takes his sustenance from without.
